Recent Projects
Here is a sampling of our most recent projects. You can see many more of our clients on our Portfolio page. We help clients with a wide range of services, including new websites from scratch, complete website redesigns, site upgrades, creating a successful web presence, or changing or maintaining existing sites.
We had worked with the Great Plant Picks team on the Elisabeth C. Miller Botanical Garden site, and they wanted to update the existing Great Plant Picks website to allow for more detailed and useful plant searches. We redeveloped the site from the ground up. With the help of programmer Jon Gross (check out Jon’s underwater photography at jongrossphotography.com) we developed a new MySQL database and programmed extensive search functions using the PHP framework CodeIgniter. With graphic design assistance from Constance Bollen of cbgraphics, great photographs by Richie Steffen, and some CSS3 design touches, we’ve developed a site that is both useful and beautiful. Print stylesheets allow for printing individual plant fact sheets, or plant lists, and site users can email custom plant lists to themselves, clients, and friends. The Treehouse Café on Bainbridge Island needed to update their website to enable easier editing, and improve their ticket purchasing system. We created a new site using WordPress with a customized version of the Events Calendar plug-in, allowing for easy addition of new events, and we worked with ShoWare on the ticket purchasing side to enable reserved seating with different seating configurations, and online payments. A “Snapshots” page incorporates an easy-to-use lightbox-style gallery program for photos, and we’ve produced complete documentation for the Treehouse Café staff to update the site. Much of the excellent photography was done by Bainbridge Island photographer Jay Trinidad. For more images, please visit our Portfolio page.
Charles Price and Glenn Withey of Withey Price Landscape & Design have a very successful landscape and garden design business based in Seattle, but never had a website. We worked with them to develop text and select photos that represent the incredibly beautiful work that they do, and created their website using WordPress with a jQuery lightbox gallery program for their portfolio page. We kept the site very clean, with a simple design and easy navigation. The hellebore graphic in their logo is a line drawing by Vashon-based botanical artist Jean Emmons. The Tiger Lily’s Attic project was a joy to create, working with Cynthia Herrick to develop a site encompassing all aspects of her Bainbridge Island business, including ecommerce (with PayPal Payments Standard) for her products, a calendar of events for her classes and sales, and a showcase for her floral design, party and event planning, custom wreaths, and creative repurposed clothing. We also imported her Blogspot blog to integrate it into her new website. We created a custom theme for Cynthia using WordPress with the eShop and Events Calendar plug-ins, and gave her documentation on how to make updates to products, events, and her blog. Scenic Sunsets owns a beautiful home on Hood Canal that is available for rent year-round, but wasn’t getting booked using an online rental service. We worked with the owner to develop a one-page website, Vacation Rental Poulsbo, focusing on Search Engine Optimization techniques and taking advantage of fabulous photos by Vashon photographer Harv Bergman. We used WordPress to allow for future site expansion, and an easily-updated bookings program to display booked and open dates on a calendar on the site, with updates made by the client. Bookings are up! For more images, please visit our Portfolio page.
